What Is the Child Dental Benefits Schedule?

Here at New Age Dental, we want to ensure children receive the very best preventative dental care and the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is an excellent government initiative. Children aged between two and 17 years who qualify for the CDBS can receive up to $1000 in dental services over two calendar years. Children need to be aged between two and 17 for at least one day that year and must be eligible for Medicare.

Which Services Are Included?

The CDBS covers checkups and cleans, dental x-rays and other services like fissure sealants, fillings, root canal treatment and tooth extractions. It is specifically designed to provide basic preventative and restorative dental services and won’t cover other treatments like orthodontics or cosmetic dental work, or any dental services provided in a hospital setting.

Is My Child Eligible?

If your child is eligible, you should receive a letter, but it’s worth checking your Medicare online account or calling the Medicare general enquiries line. Otherwise, check with the Department of Human Services for eligibility.

You can also call us to check on their child’s eligibility as we can check through our system.

Using the Service

Contact us and arrange for your child to have an oral health assessment, and we will ensure they receive the very best benefit from this scheme.
