Why have Digital Dental X-Rays?

Unlike conventional x-rays, digital dental x-rays emit minimal amounts of radiation so they are extremely safe. They are the quickest way of diagnosing infections and tooth decay, as the images can be viewed immediately on the screen in our surgery.

What Is an In-House OPG?

An orthopantomogram or an OPG, is a specialised or widescreen view of your lower face. It shows all your upper and lower teeth, as well as your jaws and jaw joints. We may suggest you have an OPG in preparation for orthodontic treatment, to provide a general overview of your teeth and bones, if we need to assess your wisdom teeth and for many other reasons that your dentist will be able to explain.

What Is an Intraoral Camera?

An intraoral camera is extremely useful, taking high resolution images inside your mouth. These can be displayed on our screen, allowing us to explain any problems and potential treatments much more clearly.

If you have more questions, our team would be happy to answer them. Please call us on (03) 9467 6759 or visit the practice at Suite 5, Level 1, 20 Scholar Drive, Bundoora VIC 3083.

What is a CBCT scan?

CBCT scans, short for cone beam computed tomography scans, are exceptionally safe and accurate dental imaging. CBCT scans are especially important for dental implant surgery as it gives the dentist a clear understanding of where and how to place dental implants. It also maps out where the patient’s sensory nerves are. This in-depth 3D imaging results in you receiving a safer and faster dental treatment.

What are the modern imaging techniques we use?

We use advanced software which integrates radiology scans and intra oral scans to create digital images for implant-based treatment planning.

What is Same Day Crown Milling using CAD CAM - CEREC MC XL?

The CEREC system comprises world-class components and ensures an accurate production of clinically proper and highly aesthetic crowns also known as prosthetics. The CEREC MC XL is precise and fast and you will have a crown and bridge made from a range of materials on the same day. The CEREC machine, from Dentsply Sirona, and same day crowns is an advantage to the traditional method of multiple visits and temporary crowns.

What is a PRF centrifugal machine?

The PRF centrifugal machine enhances the treatment of bone grafting for implants to promote bone and soft tissue healing and regeneration. PRF technology can be used because it is derived from the patient's own blood and an advantage of the PRF centrifugal machine is it is produced immediately at the chairside.
